Furthermore, when I talk about white privilege, I am NOT telling white people to feel guilty or ashamed for being white, I’m asking them to ACKNOWLEDGE that white privilege and institutionalized racism exist. And sometimes when I tell my stories, it’s about ME and my brown sisters— we do NOT want to hear your input, because it’s not everyday that I get to share stories with my own fellow South Asian sisters. In the meanwhile, I see white people stories everywhere, everyday, in real life, and online, in the media, in the streets, in magazines, on TV, all around me 24/7.
